As we approach Christmas let us reflect on the Spirit of the season. The birth of Jesus is the hope of the world. When we remember Jesus we see that he was the fulfillment of a generations long promise since the fall of man and particularly since the calling of Abraham two thousand years (roughly) before Jesus birth. Generations of Jews waited for the birth of a Messiah who would establish the kingdom of God. Jesus’s birth happens at the exact right time to fulfill all of the prophesies about the Messiah. When God came down he showed how the timing of his promises is fulfilled.
Though we may wait a lifetime for the fulfillment of God’s promises we can rest assured that he will fulfill his promises. Some will happen within our lifetimes, others will take generations to happen. This year God has taught me to be patient and to wait on his promises, I have been waiting to see the fulfillment of his promises and I am starting to realize that God’s timing is not my timing. I am learning to be content in the blessings he gives me in the present, I need not be worried about the future, I can rely on God to care for me. So remember that God is faithful and he loved us so much he sent his son into the world to fulfill his promise to bring salvation to all who call on him. So Merry CHristmas to alll and remember God is faithful and loving.
