I have walked through many bitter sweet moments recently. My uncles celebration of life service and my grandfather recently going through the hospital for respiratory issues have all occurred back to back. This last Sunday my Pastor preached a sermon on 1 John 2: 15-17. This passage tells us to not covet the things of the world but to always rest in God. We will always have loss and our life on this earth is finite. As Christians we must remember that this life is finite. Our hope is in eternal life with God. We know that we will see loved ones who are believers and we must strive to be focused on ministering to those in our lives.

We must not covet our loved ones. Fears for our eternel life and our loved ones is a mountain that we must let God move and overcome. Especially for people like me who often overthink things and grow anxious, it is important to let the Mountain of our own fears be given up to God. Only God can overcome the mountains of our own mind.
