“Greater Love has no one than, to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:3). These words are what Jesus told his disciples at the last supper as he prepared them for the reality of his death on the cross. Jesus was communicating why he was allowing himself to die, he was the sacrifice for our sins. He did this because he loeved us so much that he was willing to take on the punishment that sin called for (John 3:16).. He was willing to give everything for us, and so doing he made it possible for us to call him Lord and to gain salvation through faith in him. For all who call on the name of Jesus as Lord will be saved and all who call on the Father in his name shall be blessed.
God is my guide and my light. When I think about what he has done I am truly humbled and blessed to know that God loves me enough that 2,000 years ago he allowed himself to be nailed to the cross for me and to me that is truly humbling. I mess up all the time and yet I earnestly seek God’s will. When I look to all that God has done I am truly moved. I am always greateful for what God has done.
