Many times we feel inadequate when we look at life and our future. This applies to everything from job searching to carrying out our calling from God. I myself often struggle with my own confidence. I wrestle with my insecurities and fear that things like my preferences for films and my sensitivities towards emotionally intense parts of films. I fear sometimes that this will be a repellant for a future spouse and while I feel that a truly understanding person would be accepting of this part of my person but I do still wrestle with the insecurity of being judged for my preferences. I am grateful that God gives me the courage to surrender my fears and fills me with peace. God assures me that he will lead people into my life who do understand me and who will accept me for who I am. God will fill me with the confidence to approach people and the courage to be myself. He will also give me the confidence to hear his voice and fill his purpose.

I am reminded of the story of Moses. In Exodus 4:1-12 where God called Moses to save his people Moses had severe anxiety and argued back at God when he was called to deliver God’s people from slavery. God did give Moses the courage to confront Pharaoh and he answered every one of his concerns. Moses ultimately did honor God’s call and found his courage when he obeyed God. God gave him the strength and the courage to confront his fears and with God’s help Moses looked to him for his strength and his confidence in his caling.

So when when you feel like your insecurities are overwhelming you bring them before God, he will guide you to the right people to help you and the confidence to face your fears. He will sow you how to conquer the mountain of fear and anxiety. God will bring you peace over all the problems that you face and he will give you the courage to challenge your comfort and complacency .
